FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can anyone learn to barefoot?

THAT'S A BIG YES!! Anyone can learn to barefoot with the proper equipment and training. Mike Seipel has been teaching people of all ages and abilities to barefoot for over 30 years. In that time, he has created a very successful training program and developed equipment to increase your chances of success.

Do you offer barefoot training?

Yes. Mike Seipel is regarded as one of the top trainers in the world and (depending on his schedule) is willing to travel to give lessons. He has also created an instructional DVD which guides you through the fundamentals of barefooting. Feel free to call with questions concerning lessons or the video.

What size Wetsuit should I purchase?

We build our wetsuits in such a way that form perfectly to your body. The suit will feel tight at first but after 10-12 uses, it will have stretched and formed to your body. Check out the wetsuit page for a general fitting guide.

How should I setup my boom?

Your boom should be angled slightly forward to get the skier out of the side spray from the boat. If there will be several different people using the boom, its level should be adjusted to chest high of an average height person. From this point it will be easier to adjust up for taller skiers, and down for smaller users such as kids by shifting the weight distribution (people or ballast) in the boat.

Will this Tower Boom fit my tower?

Our Tower Boom was designed to fit all tubular wakeboard towers. These towers all have a different O.D. (outer diameter) which determines the part number of the correct Tower Boom. The Illusion Tower found on some Malibu boats is the only tower that it cannot be installed on. If you are wondering which one is right for you, check out the Tower Boom on the products page for more details.

Can I install my boom so it hangs out the driver's side of the boat?

All of our booms can be installed out either side of your boat with the exception of Quad V-Drive booms and Quad Contour booms purchased prior to 2007. Quad V-Drive and Quad Contour booms can only be made to go out one side of your boat (passenger or driver). NOTE: IF YOU WANT TO ORDER QUAD V-DRIVE BOOM OR QUAD CONTOUR BOOM THAT HANGS OUT THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF YOUR BOAT, YOU MUST CALL US TO SPECIFY THIS AT TIME OF ORDER.

Do you sell refurbished or factory blemished products?

Yes. We have some items that are refurbished or have factory blemishes. A factory blemish is when a product has something wrong with it's appearance but performs like new. Our stock in all these items is constantly changing so we cannot guarantee availability. Please contact Mike to inquire about these products.

Do you repair drysuits, wetsuits and Iron Shorts?

To repair your Barefoot International drysuit, wetsuit or Iron Shorts, please contact our manufacturer.

BAREFOOTING QUICK TIPS

Using the Easy Footer

• Hang the Easy Footer next to the inside cable on the boom, not at the end of the boom.
• The handle should be 1-2 inches off the water while the person is sitting in the Easy Footer. To adjust the level of the handle, shift the weight in the boat by moving people around.
• If you are unable to appropriately adjust the level of the handle, you may have to adjust the boom clamp up or down the pylon.
• The Boom Height Adjuster is a great accessory for use with the Easy Footer. (see Boom Accessories)
• Pull the person at 10-20 mph and when the boat planes out, they will be in a good barefooting position.
• You should never exceed 25 mph while using this product
• You will be ready to use the boom without the Easy Footer when you can achieve a good foot glide without catching your feet in the water.
